Working Visa / KITAS

For those of you who will work or open a business or will set up your own company (PMA Company) in Indonesia, to support your daily activities later, you are required to have the right visa for you, namely a work visa / KITAS. For companies that will employ foreign workers in Indonesia, they are required to have a work permit for foreign workers “IMTA” from the Ministry of Manpower or in other words the foreign worker must have a “WORK PERMIT”. And to be able to get a “Work Permit / IMTA” the company is required to pay a “DPKK” retribution fee of USD 100 per month of service or USD 1200 for a 12 month period of service which is paid through the BANK to an account belonging to the Ministry of Manpower. Meanwhile, for a Director who owns shares in a PMA company with a minimum share size of 1.2 billion IDR, he can have an Investor Visa / KITAS valid for 2 years and at the same time have a work permit without having to pay “DPKK” funds of USD 1200/year or USD 2400/ 2 years.

This type of work visa is suitable for those of you who will work in Indonesia as a manager or regular staff, whether to carry out work activities in offices, schools, factories, mining sites, ships or at a foundation throughout Indonesia. Those who work without using a work visa will be deemed to have committed an immigration violation, namely visa abuse, and a violation of this will result in you being deported from the territory of Indonesia.

If you have a work visa / KITAS and “WORK PERMIT” then you can stay and carry out work activities in Indonesia safely and comfortably, meaning you will not be questioned by the immigration authorities while you are working. And another advantage is that you can take care of / get a Certificate of Good Behavior / SKCK from the Indonesian National Police, when you need the letter one day. Many of our clients who have lived in other countries who previously lived and worked in Indonesia for a long time require a Certificate of Good Behavior / SKCK for the purpose of applying / extending their visa in the country where they currently reside, because the authorities in that country request a Police Clearence / SKCK letter from Indonesian police. There are several other advantages such as :

This Work Visa can be applied for by applicants who are outside Indonesia (offshore) or who are already in Indonesia (Onshore). After the applicant completes all the necessary requirements, the visa can be applied immediately, either by yourself or by using the professional services of an experienced and trusted visa consultant or agent. The processing time for a work visa in normal situations ranges from 1-2 months, but during the covid-19 pandemic the process of getting a visa approval is sometimes much longer because the procedures and requirements often change.

After your visa application has been granted by Indonesian immigration and the telex visa (e-Visa) has been issued, then you must use the visa (enter Indonesia) no later than 90 days after the visa was issued by Indonesian immigration. If during the 90 days you do not enter Indonesia, your visa will be forfeited / no longer valid. Thus you have to reapply the visa application if you want to enter Indonesia.

After we have received the documents completely, then we shall begin to file the working permit application to the Ministry of Manpower and then apply for the working visa to the Immigration Authorities in Jakarta.  It takes 8 (Eight) working days to obtain the E-visa approval from the Immigration Authorities in Jakarta. After the E- visa approval has been granted, then the E-visa approval letter will be immediately emailed by the Immigration Authorities in Jakarta to us and we will email your own visa approval to you. After obtaining the E-visa approval, you must enter Indonesia in 3 (three) months, otherwise, the visa would be no longer valid/obsolete. After you have entered Indonesia, your passport must be submitted to the immigration office in 30 (thirty) days to make KITAS card, For the process of making KITAS Card, you are obligated to come to the immigration office to perform biometrick session. In 5 (five) working days after KITAS has been signed, then you may receive KITAS card

Note:

The things to be noted at the time of coming to the immigration office in order to sign KITAS and photo taking:
1. For male, it is not allowed to wear sandal and shorts.
2. For female, it is not allowed to wear sandal and mini/scanty dress.
