Second Home Visa (KITAS)

Indonesia Visa & Immigration Specialists

Who is this visa intended for?

The Indonesian Immigration Authority issued a Second Home Visa policy aimed at foreigners belonging to the upper middle class economy category who are interested and wish to stay in Indonesia. This new type of visa was officially issued as of December 24, 2022, as a replacement for the Retirement Visa already existed (available) more than 20 years ago.

The most striking/contrast difference between the two types of visas is in terms of the minimum amount of savings that must be owned by this visa applicant. In the past, retirement visa applicants were required to have a minimum savings fund of USD 15,000 – 18,000, but now they are required to have funds cash stored in banks in Indonesia in the amount of IDR 2 billion. The requirement for the proof of fund of IDR 2 billion may be difficult for ordinary foreigners, but it is not a problem for middle and upper economic class foreigners. Thus, this new policy breakthrough may be able to attract rich foreigners to stay longer in Indonesia, namely 5 or 10 years and can be extended.
