For foreigners who will marry to an Indonesian citizen and will legally marry in Indonesia, they are required to prepare the following documents to be submitted to state officials who will issue a marriage certificate or marriage book. This marriage certificate is one of the most important documents that must be provided to apply for a long-term residence visa in Indonesia, namely a Spouse KITAS.

REQUIREMENT FOR FOREIGNERS WHO WILL MARRY INDONESIAN

Documents of foreigners :

  1. CNI ( Certificate of No Impediment), which is a certificate stating that you can marry and will marry an Indonesian citizen. This letter is issued by the competent authority in the country, such as an embassy.
  2. Photocopy of residence identity card from the country of origin
  3. Photocopy of passport
  4. Photocopy of birth certificate
  5. Certificate not currently in the status of marriage
  6. Divorce Certificate if ever married
  7. Death Certificate of the married partner if dies
  8. Current domicile certificate
  9. Photographs 2 x 3 ( 4 sheets ) and 4 x 6 ( 4 sheets)
  10. For marriages at the KUA office, you must include a certificate of conversion to Islam if previously a non-Muslim.

All these letters must be translated into Bahasa Indonesia by a sworn translator. Then legalized by the foreign national embassy in Indonesia.

Documents of Indonesian :

  1. RT / RW cover letter stating that there are no obstacles to getting married
  2. Form N1,N2,and N4 from Kelurahan office and Kecamatan
  3. Special N3 form for marriage at KUA ( bride’s consent letter which must be signed by both bride and groom)
  4. Photocopy of KTP
  5. Photocopy of Birth Certificate
  6. The data of the parents
  7. Photocopy of Family Card ( KK)
  8. Parents’ marriage book (only if you are the first child)
  9. Data of two marriage witnesses and photocopies of their KTPs
  10. Photographs 2 x 3 ( 4 sheets) and 4 x 6 (4 sheets)
  11. Prenup ( pre-marriage agreement)
